What is AI, exactly?
We’re glad you asked :)
It seems like everybody is talking about AI these days. A lot of that discussion is focused on the latest generation of AI technologies, which is generative AI.
For a lot of people and organizations right now, “AI” very specifically means ChatGPT or similar LLM-based chatbots, like Claude, Microsoft Co-Pilot and Gemini.
That’s not what it means to us. AI is a lot more than ChatGPT and LLM-based chatbots.
Sure, these tools, and generative AI more generally, are an important part of today’s AI strategy.
It’s imperative to understand what they’re good at (and what they’re not!) and how to use them effectively and responsibly for achieving business outcomes that matter.
There are other important tools and technologies, too, though.
Let’s just consider a few from the field of natural language processing (NLP):
Search, such as Google or Bing, also including product search on platforms like Amazon, eBay and Zillow,
Machine translation, which you might know through services like “Google Translate”
Classification, such as sentiment analysis, the kind of topic categorization used for contextual targeting and brand safety in interactive/digital advertising, or image classification that tags photos
Personalization, like you might see with product recommendations on e-commerce platforms or targeted content within walled gardens
Auto-complete/auto-correct in your texting, email and word processing applications
While models like the ones that power ChatGPT and other generative AI tools are often under the hood, tools like the ones above are purpose built for specific tasks.
If you’re using them in your organization, you need to think about the people who are using them and the kinds of meaningful experiences you want them to produce for your product or business. Then, you need to achieve those results.
And, that’s where we come in. We specialize in delivering high quality experiences, design and strategy that humanize the interactions between people and automation across the range of AI.
We take a thoughtful, creative approach to delivering AI outcomes that matter to you and your organization.
How can we help you succeed with your AI strategy?
We believe that AI should empower people, not replace them.
So, we design systems and strategy that align with human behavior, wants and needs.
We provide strategic, executive AI leadership to empower you to build AI systems and processes that grow with your organization, delivering long-term value all without the overhead of a full-time hire.
We’d love to work with you to develop and operationalize innovative AI strategies and direction that humanize interactions between people and automation creatively, responsibly and thoughtfully while expanding your AI literacy, competency and capabilities so that you can fly with your own wings if and when you choose to:)
We focus on generating successful, human-centered outcomes with AI initiatives for woman-led/ woman-owned/woman-funded teams and organizations.
